Bathurst Regional Council recognises the importance of Charles Sturt University to the cultural and economic life of the region and sees education as a key process in the development and growth of its residents, particularly its youth. In order to aid this development and ease the transition and expenses for rural students, Bathurst Regional Council offers this scholarship to students who reside within their Local Government Area. In 1986, Council established a Governorship through a pledge to the then Mitchell Foundation. This relationship continues today with the Charles Sturt University Foundation Trust Bathurst Regional Council Scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must reside and have attended school within the Bathurst Local Government Area (supporting documentation to be provided). Students must demonstrate a broad level of community engagement and are requested to attach evidence to their application of their community/regional involvement through a detailed explanation, letter of reference or certificate.
