Bachelor of Education - Secondary

This program provides initial teacher education for people who wish to work in secondary school classroom setting (Qld Years 7-12). It has a distinctive Christian perspective and a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of teaching, combined with extensive study of educational foundations and theory. It seeks to develop reflective professional teachers who possess a well-defined understanding of teaching Christianly.

Structure

32 units (320 credit points). Students complete 60 credit points in each of two teaching areas. The final year includes an internship.

Entry requirements

  • Applicants for whom English is not their first language must also satisfy English language requirements: documentary evidence of satisfactory completion within the past five years of senior secondary schooling or tertiary studies of at least two years (full time equivalent), conducted in the English language in an accepted country, or an overall score of 7.5 with minimum scores of 7.0 in Reading and Writing, and 8.0 for Listening and Speaking, in an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test which is no more than 2 years old at the time of commencement at CHC
