This program is for students who dream of a career as an Journalist, Editor, Social Media Manager, Copywriter, Publicist or Blogger. Throughout the Diploma students are taught and mentored by industry experts who are currently working as entertainment journalists for major online and print media, social media managers for major brands and publicists for fashion and lifestyle brands. Students will work with a range of equipment including the Melbourne CBD campus TV studio, contribute to their own entertainment online media outlet, be mentored in small class sizes and be introduced to a range of industry contacts. Students will undertake fundamental units such as feature writing, social media, video and digital journalism, entertainment, lifestyle, fashion, music, performance and screen journalism. Students also gain a well-rounded understanding of the media industry in Australia and overseas.

Standard entry requirements

Applicants are required to successfully complete VCAL, VCE, IB, or state/international Year 12 equivalent. If students have not completed the year 12 requirements, they must be at least 20 years of age. The Diploma can be used as a pathway into the Bachelor degree. There are no ATAR minimum or subject requirements
