As well as our ratings from The Good Universities Guide, we've been recognised globally for our graduate employability1, social innovationand sustainability3.

We believe higher education should be for everyone, and we're proud our student body has some of the highest ratios of students from disadvantaged, mature age, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and first-in-family backgrounds. This inclusive approach and commitment to access and participation means the university defines itself by who it embraces, rather than who it excludes.

Study with confidence at a uni recognised for world-class research in 22 different research categories. This includes the highest rating 'well above world standard' in various mathematics, psychology, engineering and science categories4.

We also partner with multiple Regional University Centres in NSW, SA and WA, providing further access to quality education in these remote areas.

Study online

With over 40 years’ experience in distance education and over half of our Australian students choosing to complete their studies online, CQUniversity offers a quality virtual learning experience.

Our online students enjoy the same high standard of education, student support and digital resources as students studying on campus. This includes opportunities to virtually network with fellow students, teachers, and industry professionals.

Plus, if you live near a CQUniversity campus you’ll have access to on-campus facilities, support services and events. You may even be able to mix on-campus and online learning throughout your degree.

The CQUniversity student experience

Learn from our award-winning and experienced teaching professionals, and benefit from our focus on student services and support. Whether you study online or on campus, our small class sizes mean you’ll have great access to your lecturer and be able to build supportive relationships with classmates.

Our courses are designed alongside industry and many include hands-on learning experiences to ensure you graduate with practical, job-ready skills. Many CQUniversity courses provide opportunities to complete field and laboratory work, project-based learning, internships and work placements. Our focus on social innovation means many courses offer opportunities for you to give back to your community while gaining valuable experience. You’ll also enjoy access to a range of career-orientated services including on-campus and online events to meet and talk to employers.

Student support services will help you transition to university life during orientation and offer ongoing assistance throughout your studies. Access academic support, student mentors, counselling services, course advice, career-planning services, support for students with disability or medical conditions, Indigenous student support, financial support options and more.

Tailor your time at university by studying abroad, joining a club or society, or getting involved in social or competitive sports. Our student residences in Mackay and Rockhampton offer safe and convenient on-campus accommodation options.

Benefit from our wide range of scholarships, bursaries and awards providing both opportunities and financial support. While some of our scholarships are awarded on academic merit, others focus on a wide range of criteria, such as course of study, home location, commitment to community engagement and income status.

We have an active alumni program and continue to support graduates by providing access to career services and mentors, professional and personal development, and further opportunities for you to follow your passion and expand your experience.
