The Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Professional Communication is a dual degree. The course is designed to meet diverse careers in business, management, public relations, and communication professions, providing students with the opportunity to expand their career choices beyond business management. The business component of the course will enable students to apply knowledge related to management, finance, accounting, marketing, property, social innovation and human resources in different workplace contexts. The professional communication component of the course is practically-oriented and focuses on workplace relevance for future public relations and journalism practitioners. Students will attain a unique blend of public relations and journalism theory and practice and also core communication practice skills, such as writing, speech, photography and introductory graphic design.

Year 12 or equivalent; QTAC: English (4/HA); UAC: English (Standard, Band 4); VTAC: Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 35 in any English. English language requirements apply.

Study Pathways:

Exit award: Diploma of Business Studies; Interim award: Diploma of Business Studies. On completion of the degree, students may be interested in postgraduate courses in Management, International Business or completing a Master of Business Administration.

Depending on chosen major/s graduates have a number of professional associations they may be eligible to apply for. Marketing graduates may be eligible for membership with the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian Market and Social Research Society. Management major graduates may be eligible for membership with the Australian Institute of Management. The Property major is accredited by the Australian Property Institute. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be eligible for Associate membership and Certified Property Practitioner certificate upon completion of a period of approved professional experience. The Financial Planning major is accredited by the Financial Planning Associate of Australia.
