Prepare yourself to lead practice and service development, and positively influence the delivery of healthcare services and policy development with our Master of Nurse Practitioner.Ideal for advanced practice registered nurses working within their specialty area, you will gain expert theoretical and clinical knowledge to autonomously assess, diagnose, plan and manage the care of clients, prescribe medications and treatment regimens, including the ordering of diagnostic investigations, and refer clients to other healthcare professionals within multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.Founded upon the principles of culturally responsive, person-centred care, this course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to respond to diverse acute, chronic, and complex clinical presentations to improve the health outcomes of individuals, their families, and the broader community.This course has also been developed to incorporate the four domains of clinical practice, education, research, and leadership that inform the national Nurse Practitioner Standards for Practice, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).As a student, you will be required to create a portfolio demonstrating your emerging advanced practice nursing knowledge and skills. Your portfolio will comprise a collection of your work you have completed throughout your course, including written work, presentations, reflections and your log of 340 hours of integrated professional practice. The portfolio you create will be utilised by the NMBA and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (Ahpra) when determining your eligibility for endorsement within the advanced practice role.

Entry requirements
- To be eligible for entry into this course, applicants must demonstrate the following: Current unconditional registration as a registered nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and
- A completed Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) or equivalent, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in a clinical field with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0, and
- A statement of service^ demonstrating a minimum of 0.6 years full-time equivalent (FTE) current employment in an advanced nursing practice role, with: A minimum of four years FTE employment experience as a registered nurse within a clinical specialty*, and
- A minimum of two years FTE employment experience in an advanced nursing practice** role in the same clinical specialty (within the last six years of term commencement). * Clinical specialty must align with the completed postgraduate qualification. ** Refer to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s Fact Sheet for Advanced Practice for the definition of advanced nursing practice. ^ Employment experience must be shown in a statement of service which is presented on a company letterhead, as well as signed and dated by a delegated authority. The letter must contain position title/s, duties performed, and length of service. Refer to course page for additional requirements, including English Language Proficiency Requirements.
