This course enables students to be recognised as a professional and eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers. Over the course of four years, students will develop an understanding of the practice methods, skills, knowledge and values of the social work profession. With an emphasis on problem-based learning, they will gain valuable experience in critical and reflective thinking and practice. Students will have the opportunity to complete 2 field education placements where they will begin to apply their developing knowledge and skills and see in-practice examples of theory. This degree ensures students are equipped with the skills, knowledge and values to assist the most vulnerable and marginalised members of the communities to achieve the best outcomes.

Further information
Students are required to attend a minimum of 20 days residential school attendance throughout the course. The course incorporates two compulsory 13 week and 16 week unpaid field education experiences in Years 3 and 4. Recommended study: Studies of Society, Community work, Information Technology literacy.
