The Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning satisfys the education standards of the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA). The Graduate Diploma is appropriate for existing advisers with no degree, or a non-relevant degree, and will meet new education standards to continue practice. Alternatively, new entrants into the financial planning profession without an approved degree can study the Graduate Diploma to satisfy FASEA education standards. In this course students will develop the capacity to identify, analyse and resolve problems relating to professional practice in Financial Planning. Graduate will be able to seek employment in a range of occupations related to Financial Planning practice.

Standard entry requirements

  • Australian Bachelor degree, or equivalent qualification, in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Or a Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning, or equivalent
  • A Diploma of Financial Planning, or equivalent, current registration as a certified practicing financial planner, and 5 years relevant work experience.

Recognition

This course is accredited by the Financial Advisers Standards and Ethics Agency (FASEA) as fulfilling the educational requirements for professional practice.

Study pathways

Exit award: Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning. Interim award: Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning. Advanced standing may be awarded to prospective students who have additional relevant experience in the financial planning industry and who may have completed formal and informal training. Students can continue their studies with the Master of Financial Planning.
