This course enables students to gain specialist education and training in the core elements of human resource management (HRM) applicable to local and global business environments. Covering all areas of HRM, the course facilitates critical evaluation of contemporary theories and develops advanced skills and knowledge in the field. The course examines HR strategy, training, recruitment, performance development, diversity management and managing change, to qualify students to operate as human resource professionals in domestic and international business contexts.

Bachelor degree in any discipline from an Australian university or college, or equivalent overseas qualification; or equivalent; or a CQUniversity Graduate Certificate in Management, or equivalent; or a CQUniversity Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management, or equivalent. English language requirements

Study Pathways:

Exit awards: Graduate Certificate in Management; Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management. Interim awards: Graduate Certificate in Management; Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management. Students may be eligible for exemptions of up to 48 credit points for previously completed graduate diploma level studies in human resource management or an honours degree in human resource management. Advanced standing of up to 24 credit points may be granted for previously completed undergraduate studies in human resource management or business. Students who do not meet the entry requirements for Master of Human Resource Management may consider the Graduate Certificate in Management or Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management (depending on level of study and experience). Both courses provide a pathway into the Master of Human Resources Management. Students may consider further study by completing the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
