Certificate III in Carpentry

This qualification is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications.

Entry Requirements:

Employed in the construction industry under a contract of employment; plus registered as an apprentice with an Australian Apprenticeships Centre (AAC) prior to enrolment. Applicants must also possess literacy, language and maths skills equivalent to Year 10. Students who do not possess these skills to the level required will be enrolled in additional subjects to build the required skills.

30 units: 22 core; 8 elective

Core: Use carpentry tools and equipment; Handle carpentry materials; Carry out general demolition of minor building structures; Carry out setting out; Carry out levelling operations; Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry; Plan and organise work; Conduct workplace communication; Carry out measurements and calculations; Read and interpret plans and specifications; Carry out concreting to simple forms; Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry; Install flooring systems; Construct wall frames; plus more and electives.

CSTC also provides training in Non-Friable, Friable and Supervisors Training in our state of the art asbestos training facility.
