The Graduate Certificate of Specialist Inclusive Education is designed for individuals interested in a pathway for further learning and employment in the area of inclusive education. The course services current demand for teacher and allied education staff professional development and certification around high quality educational provision for students with diverse educational needs. You will develop advanced knowledge of contemporary education issues and graduate with high-level critical and evaluative skills. The course takes in to account the implementation of social justice policy and addresses the fundamental philosophy of access and success for people with diverse educational needs.

Standard entry requirements
- Bachelor degree in any discipline
- Or at least two years of relevant work experience (or part-time equivalent)
On completion of the Graduate Certificate of Specialist Inclusive Education, an entry pathway into the Master of Specialist Inclusive Education is available for students holding existing Australian teaching qualification. Pathways from Graduate Certificate of Specialist Inclusive Education into other School of Education programs are also available depending on the programs entry prerequisites. For example, students who have completed the Graduate Certificate of Specialist Inclusive Education but do not possess Australian teaching qualifications are able to pursue such qualification via entry into the Bachelor of Education or A Master of Teaching. Entry into the Master Teaching (Secondary) is dependent on students having a relevant undergraduate degree to meet the VIT Specialist guidelines to qualify with at least one curriculum area of teaching.
