Jake Stavrou

Jake is a Bachelor of Sport Development student with a goal to work in the sports industry. With the support of Deakin’s staff, teaching and student services, Jake has been able to gain real-world experience in his chosen profession while he studies.

‘I have always had a passion for sport and am keen for a career in the industry. Deakin is well-known for its sports courses, which is why I decided to study there.

Deakin has a very positive culture. The staff are very helpful and friendly so you can seek help whenever required. I also found the transition from high school to Deakin to be smooth and pleasant.

Through Deakin UniHub, I have found numerous jobs that relate to my course including coaching, event work and refereeing.’
