This qualification is part of the Manufacturing Training Package. It provides the type of competencies required by competent production workers who undertake vital production support roles directly related to producing products. Production workers apply a breadth and depth of knowledge to a defined range of situations and would be expected to apply this knowledge to solve a defined range of problems by applying known solutions to a limited range of predictable problems. It has been developed for use across the three process manufacturing sectors: chemical, hydrocarbons and refining; plastics, rubber and cablemaking, and manufactured mineral products.

Entry Requirements:

No minimum education; Prerequisite units may apply to some electives.


14 units: 3 core; 11 elective

Electives: Use power tools/hand held operations; Work in accordance with an issued permit; Operate equipment; Pack products or materials; Transfer loads; Sample and test materials and product; Cut polymer materials; Undertake minor maintenance; Clean workplace or equipment; Conduct hazard analysis; plus more.
