The Diploma of Business provides students with an overall perspective of business processes and fundamental business skills. The Diploma of Business is identical to the first year of university studies. On successful completion, students are eligible to enter second year of University with advanced standing.

Year 12 or equivalent; or mature age entry; proof of English proficiency


8 units over 2 or 3 trimesters.

Study Pathways:

On completion students can transfer to the 2nd year of either the Bachelor of Commerce (with a choice of majors), Bachelor of Marketing Advertising and Public Relations or Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Edith Cowan University (8 credits).

Edith Cowan College, formerly known as Perth Institute of Business and Technology, was established in 1994, and provides courses in the areas of business, computing and information technology, hotel management, communications and creative industries and science, including nursing and engineering. It is the founding college of the Navitas group.

The Navitas Group offers students a wide selection of courses and locations in conjunction with leading universities in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and United States of America.

Quality teaching, facilities, academic and welfare support services for all students are central to Edith Cowan College's educational philosophy. There are 30 to 40 students per class.

Edith Cowan College provides entry into the second year of the respective bachelor degree at ECU upon successful completion of the diploma. FEE-HELP is available for eligible students (Australian citizens) studying diploma programs.
