FCTA - Building Careers

This qualification is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It provides a trade outcome in solid plastering in the residential and commercial construction industry.

Entry Requirements:

An apprenticeship contract

Structure:

20 units: 15 core; 5 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry; Plan and organise work; Conduct workplace communication; Apply basic levelling procedures; Carry out measurements and calculations; Read and interpret plans and specifications; Apply basic levelling procedures; Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding; Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry; Cut and fix paper-faced cornices; Handle solid plastering materials; Use solid plastering tools and equipment; Prepare surfaces for plastering; Apply float and render to straight and curved surfaces; Apply set coats; Restore and renovate solid plasterwork. Plus electives.

Further information:

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
