Federation University is Australia’s third oldest university, with campuses in Ballarat, Berwick, Brisbane, Gippsland and the Wimmera providing easy access to study, and approximately 1,300 staff committed to teaching excellence and student support.

Admission and selection
At Federation University we believe in lifelong learning, so whatever your background or experience may be, we encourage you to apply. Students may wish to apply using:
- higher education background if they have studied previously
- work and life experience
- recent secondary school education
- previous study at a Certificate III level or higher.

Federation University’s Brisbane campus welcomes new students throughout the year in March, July and November. Each degree is carefully curated with links to industry and multiple hands-on learning experiences that give our students a competitive edge when searching for employment.
Our flagship programs for 2022 include:
- Bachelor of Cognitive Enterprise
Designed in collaboration with IBM, the Bachelor of Cognitive Enterprise is a degree of the future. You will learn how disruptive technologies such as Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) contribute to the digital transformation of organisations. You will be job-ready by earning IBM Digital Badges (certifications) in Blockchain and AI and by gaining valuable experience through out work-integrated learning program. This course will give you the confidence to start you career as a business analyst, systems analyst, digital transformation consultant, technology manager, change management consultant or digital business strategist.
- Bachelor of Information Technology
Develop strong communication, academic and problem-solving skills — critical attributes for success in the IT sector. Learn programming skills to facilitate smooth communication with software developers, and explore web design, systems modelling and user experience. Participate in our professional engagement course for the opportunity to network and enhance your knowledge of the IT industry.
Alongside our flagship programs, we also offer a variety of short courses designed for online students that allow students the ability to upskill, anytime, anywhere.
We offer a range of scholarships and grants to reward academic achievement, help students in financial difficulty and assist with some of the extra costs of studying.
