Our acting program offers an intensive training program where you will develop acting, voice and movement skills for performance on stage and screen. You'll be based in Ballarat at our Arts Academy (Camp Street Campus), a dynamic hub for our creative students. You'll develop your acting, voice and movement skills in order to be competitive in the arts industry. You will also learn the practical skills of working with agents and preparing for auditions and screen tests. Studio classes are taught by some of Australia leading and respected artists, ensuring our training is relevant, vigorous and contemporary. You will be encouraged to explore both the existing repertoire and new work. The degree blends ensemble studio practice with critical theory, incorporating workshops, rehearsal, and research. Subjects include: voice and singing, dance and movement, acting for stage and screen, and critical studies. A series of studio and public performances occur at each year level, inclusive of a presentation to industry representatives at the conclusion of the program. Graduates of this program can be seen in major theatres across Australia, in comedy festivals, on television series, web series, and are renowned writers and makers of new works. Areas of study include: Stage and Screen Acting and Performance, Auditions, Agents, Critical studies, Movement, and dance, Performing arts, Singing, and Voice.

International: $79,500

Entry Requirements:

Satisfactory completion of VCE (or equivalent); a study score of at least 20 in English/English Language/Literature or Mature Age entry. Applicants are selected by audition and interview (the audition process is managed separately to the VTAC process).

Structure:

Year 1 - eight core courses over two semesters. Year 2 - eight core courses over two semesters. Year 3 - eight core courses over two semesters.

Study Pathways:

Credit will be considered if you have successfully completed higher education or TAFE studies in a relevant area. Advanced standing will be determined on an individual basis, depending on eligibility for credit transfer, prior experience and qualifications.
