Graduate Certificate in Occupational Hazard Management

The Graduate Certificate of Occupational Hazard Management program will provide health and safety specialists with the skills and knowledge to manage the health and safety function using evidence informed practice. Students will learn to coherently argue, justify and implement solutions based upon the designing-out of health and safety problems. After completing the Graduate Certificate of Occupational Hazard Management students may enter the Graduate Diploma of Occupational Hazard Management in the second year.

Entry Requirements:

A bachelor degree; or a diploma or advanced diploma in OHS plus at least two years OHS experience in a workplace; or at least three years OHS management experience. Extra requirements: it is strongly recommended that program participants be in employment or have access to a workplace for completion of assessment.


During the on-campus blocks, students are required to participate in group work sessions and classes. At the end of the 3 week block modes of learning, students are required to complete assignments based on actual workplace situations.

Students may be entitled to gain subject credits or exemptions. A pathway is provided from the Federation University Australia's Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety program. After completing the Graduate Certificate of Occupational Hazard Management students may enter the Graduate Diploma of Occupational Hazard Management in the second year.
