The Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) (Honours) will equip you with the necessary communication, technical and problem solving skills required to meet the high demand for graduates in mining engineering in Australia and the Asia Pacific Region.Throughout the course, you will explore study areas in mineral deposit evaluation and processing, underground production systems, mine power and services, surface mining operations and mine environment and safety, to establish best practice in sustainable and safe mining.

Credit will be considered if you have successfully completed higher education or TAFE studies relevant to this degree. Advanced standing will be determined on an individual basis, depending on your eligibility for credit transfer, prior experience and qualifications. Candidates seeking alternate entry can consider the following options: Foundation Access Studies (FAST) program, including FASTP1203 Introduction to Technical maths. On successful completion of FAST, including FASTP1203 Introduction to Technical maths, students can apply for the Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) (Honours) for Semester 1. (The Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) (Honours) is unlikely to offer a mid-year intake). Enrol in single courses such as MATHS1001 Modelling and Change or MATHS1005 Secrets of the Matrix to demonstrate ability to be successful on the program. Apply for the Diploma of Engineering - Technical (FedUni TAFE, Ballarat) which offers an articulation pathway into Higher Education and a number of credits towards the Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) (Honours)
