Federation University

This qualification is part of the Information and Communications Technology Training Package. It provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to administer and manage information and communications technology support in small-to-medium enterprises including networking, IT support, database development, programming and web development.

Entry Requirements:

Certificate IV in Information Technology or relevant vocational experience.

Structure:

20 units: 4 core; 16 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability; Ensure a safe workplace; Gather data to identify business requirements; Match ICT needs with the strategic direction of the enterprise. Elective: Plan, implement and test enterprise communication solutions; Manage a project using software management tools; Confirm transition strategy for a new system; Produce basic client-side script for dynamic web pages; plus more.

Study Pathways:

Completion of this qualification may provide you with credit towards a Bachelor degree in a related program.

Applicants must possess Australian Core Skills Framework levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication, and numeracy skills to successfully complete this program. Students who do not possess these skills to the level required will be enrolled in additional subjects to build the required skills. Students entering as an apprentice or trainee must be employed in the relevant industry prior to enrolment.
