Structure

Students complete four core (compulsory) topics, including a professional experience placement topic. These topics are aimed at providing students with the opportunity to critically analyse the concepts and theory around recognition, response and management of the acute, complex and/or critically ill deteriorating patient in a critical care setting are applied and students practise evidence-based nursing research skills to plan, implement and evaluate care provision in critical care environments.

Entry requirements

• Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification.
• hold current Registered Nurse registration, have one year (Full-time equivalent) work experience as a Registered Nurse, within the last five years. Applicants must also have a minimum of seven months work experience in and be currently employed in an intensive care or high dependency unit. Applicants must provide details of their registered nursing work experience in their SATAC application.
