The Master of Palliative Care in Aged Care aims to provide the opportunity for individuals from any professional background who are working in palliative care or aged care to deepen and extend their knowledge base in palliative care in aged care within a global context and to address particular needs within their practice and employment. It also aims to provide the opportunity for students to develop as researchers who are able to communicate research evidence to professional communities.

Structure
This is a 54 unit program. Students complete four core (compulsory) topics, a research project and four option topics chosen from a range of option topics available. These topics aim to provide students the opportunity to critically appraise palliative care theory, research, ethics and the professional literature, further extending the students' knowledge and skills in this area and develop and complete a piece of independent intellectual work which adds to the existing body of knowledge in the area of palliative care in aged care.

Standard entry requirements
- Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a health-related discipline and have a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent clinical involvement in palliative care, aged care or a related field
- Or hold the Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care, or the Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care in Aged Care, or the Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.
Study pathways
Students who have completed the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (or other qualifications deemed equivalent) receive credit when progressing to the Graduate Diploma or Masters.
