The Peter Torjul Regional and Rural Student Scholarship

Flinders University has established this scholarship to support regional and rural SA and NT students studying undergraduate courses in STEM focussing on the defence industry. The scholarship is named to honour the late Peter Torjul, who worked tirelessly for over 30 years to create educational pathways for students to Flinders.

Eligibility Requirements

Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:; be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident of Australia or permanent humanitarian visa holder; be applying via SATAC to commence an eligible undergraduate course in STEM focussing on the defence industry at Flinders University as a Commonwealth Supported student; have their first preference to an eligible Flinders course; have completed year 12 in the year prior to commencing University study; be a permanent resident of South Australia or the Northern Territory; be in receipt of means-tested government payments, or can demonstrate financial hardship or be from a Low SES school; have a permanent home address in Inner or Outer Regional, Remote or Very Remote Australia as defined by the Australian Standard Geographic Classification (ASGC) classifications 2-5.
