Why choose The Gordon?

Hands-on training: real skills for real jobs
The Gordon specialises in providing a hands-on training environment where you learn by ‘doing’; your new knowledge and skills are put into practice in either simulated or real-life situations. Training areas are designed to replicate industry environments, so when you’re learning you also experience what it will be like to do the work in the ‘real’ world.

Industry trained teachers
Our teachers aren’t just teachers. They are also professionals who have excelled in their careers, learned from experience, and are still in constant contact with their industry. Many of them still work in their field whilst teaching at The Gordon.

Known and trusted by employers
There is no doubt that The Gordon name opens doors to prospective employers. Local employers and the Greater Geelong community have trusted our training capability for more than a century, and we’re continuing to build this trust state-wide, nationally and internationally.

Work placements and industry projects
As well as learning in our practical facilities, most of our courses also include work placement opportunities with real employers, which not only gives you experience but also a foot-in-the-door for possible employment after your studies. We also have great relationships with hundreds of businesses in the wider Geelong region, and we work closely with them to give students real industry projects as part of their courses.

Location, Location, Location
The Gordon has campuses located in Geelong, East Geelong, Werribee and Hoppers Crossing as well as a small trade based campus in Colac. The Gordon employs approximately 650 staff in teaching and non-teaching areas.
