Certificate III in Urban Pest Management

This qualification is part of the Property Services Training Package. It reflects the roles of pest management technicians who are required to identify common urban pests, assess pest problems, consider pest management options, develop pest management plans, liaise with customers and implement pest management strategies. In most cases, the technician will work alone and have responsibility for managing chemicals and equipment used in pest management as well as for a pest management vehicle, including the vehicle storage area.

Core: Respond to enquiries and complaints; Prepare and present pest management proposals for complex or high risk operations; Maintain equipment and pesticide storage area in pest management vehicles; Manage pests without applying pesticides; Manage pests by applying pesticides; plus more. Electives: Plan and schedule pest management operations; Control timber pests; Manage organisms by applying fumigants to commodities and environments; Install physical termite management systems; plus more.
