This qualification is part of the Metal and Engineering Training Package. It is for people employed as apprentice casters and moulders in manufacturing, engineering and related industry areas. Students will gain the competencies required by a casters and moulders working in these areas. They will also acquire skills and knowledge in workplace communication, occupational health and safety, quality procedures systems and planning, engineering measurement, computations and computer technology, as well as industry-specific skills in casting and moulding and other areas such as welding, boilermaking or metal casting that are relevant to their current or intended employment.
