This qualification is part of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package. It provides an occupational outcome in the poultry industry. The poultry industry expects that graduates from this qualification will be able to perform a range of tasks associated with a person performing the job role of a poultry hand.

Entry Requirements:

No minimum education. Prerequisite units may apply to some electives.


16 units: 3 core; 13 elective

Electives: Euthanase livestock; Set up shed for placement of day-old chickens; Identify and sex poultry; Incubate eggs; Carry out post-mortem examination of livestock; Brood poultry; Catch and load poultry; Monitor livestock production growing environments; Implement pest management strategies; Maintain and monitor feed stocks; Beak tip poultry; plus more.
