Institute for Aboriginal Development (Aboriginal Corporation)

Established in 1969, IAD, also known as The Institute for Aboriginal Development (Aboriginal Corporation) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering quality adult education programs, including certificate courses in business, information technology and foundation skills. The Institute has played a significant role in training local Aboriginal people from Central Australia since being one of the first Aboriginal organisations to be given RTO status. They have developed a range of services and programs that are grounded in Aboriginal culture and designed to develop Aboriginal excellence and leadership. The Institute's publishing arm, IAD Press produces dictionaries, language learning guides, and textbooks on culture, history and biography that are essential resources for all organisations working in Central Australia. The IAD delivers culturally adapted literacy and numeracy training, intensive pre-employment training for Aboriginal people along with training in cultural leadership, interpretation and research.
