Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)

This program allows students study health science subjects together with occupational science research, professional and management subjects, and health promotion. Fieldwork placements occur each year in rural and urban locations throughout the region, with some placements available interstate or internationally. Occupational therapists assist people to overcome limitations caused by injury, illness, psychological or emotional difficulties, developmental delay, or the effects of ageing. The course prepares graduates to work with people in a range of health and community settings.

Entry Requirements:

Year 12 or equivalent; English (4,SA) plus one of Biology (4,SA), Chemistry (4,SA), Physics (4,SA), Health Education (4,SA) or Physical Education (4,SA). Students must provide evidence of a current First Aid/CPR certificate and immunity to hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella and Pertussis within the first teaching period of their studies. A Suitability to Work with Children Card (Blue Card) is required prior to the first clinical placement. Some placement agencies require students to produce a current Australian Federal Police check.

Structure:

96 credit points. Levels one and two can be completed part-time however levels three and four must be completed full-time.
