The Bachelor of Advanced Science prepares high achieving highly motivated students for careers as the future leaders and researchers in the sciences where strong quantitative skills and in-depth knowledge are in high demand. A range of specialisations are available from the majors listed. Through fieldwork and practical experience students undertake hands-on study and research in areas such as tropical rainforests, coastal wetlands, mangroves, tropical savannah, and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as in more traditional science areas.
72 credit points. A maximum of 30 credit points may be taken at level 1. A minimum of 18 credit points of science subjects must be taken at level 3 or higher. Students can seek permission to enrol in more than one level 5 subject.

Standard entry requirements
Year 12 or equivalent: English (Units 3/4,C), mathematical methods (Units 3/4,C) Recommended: At least one of biology, chemistry, physics or specialist maths (Units 3/4,C).
Honours is offered to students who meet the stated criteria.
