This program provides students with the theory, skills and practical application of geology. The core subjects provide the fundamental background and training in environmental earth science and geology essential to becoming a geologist. Electives provide a broad scientific background in level one. In levels two and three students can select from several minors to gain additional knowledge and skills from other relevant disciplines.

- Year 12 or equivalent
- Assumed knowledge: English (Units 3/4,C). Recommended: At least one of biology, chemistry, earth and environmental science, geography, marine science, mathematical methods, specialist maths or physics. Students without chemistry (Units 3/4,C) must take chemistry and/or mathematics preparatory subjects in their first year of study.
