This program allows students study health science subjects together with occupational science research, professional and management subjects, and health promotion. Fieldwork placements occur each year in rural and urban locations throughout the region, with some placements available interstate or internationally. Occupational therapists assist people to overcome limitations caused by injury, illness, psychological or emotional difficulties, developmental delay, or the effects of ageing. The course prepares graduates to work with people in a range of health and community settings.


96 credit points. Levels one and two can be completed part-time however levels three and four must be completed full-time. Students enrolling mid-year will complete in 4.5 years.

Standard entry requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • English (Units 3/4,C) plus one of biology, chemistry, physics, health or physical education (Units 3/4,C). Students must also meet requirements for placement: immunisation
  • Completion of an Australian Nationally Accredited First Aid and CPR training course
  • Suitability to Work with Children Card (Blue Card)
  • Australian Federal Police check.
