This program's studies include health science subjects, anatomy/physiology and specialised areas such as human movement and measurement, passive manual techniques, exercise prescription, therapeutic massage, and current professional issues. Physiotherapists are health professionals who focus on the restoration of function to improve quality of life. They assess and diagnose problems with human movement, then plan and administer treatment to restore function or minimise dysfunction after disease or injury. There is a special focus on rural and remote practice. Clinical placements are undertaken in a variety of settings.

  • English (Units 3/4,C), Mathematical Methods (Units 3/4,C), plus one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics
  • Physical education or Health (Units 3/4,C). Students must also meet requirements for placement: immunisation
  • Completion of an Australian Nationally Accredited First Aid and CPR training course
  • Suitability to Work with Children Card (Blue Card)
  • Australian Federal Police check.
