Graduate Diploma of Dental Implantology

This program is designed to train AHPRA-registered dental graduates in the academic, clinical and technical skills and knowledge to successfully identify, treat and care for patients requiring dental implants. The course comprises two full-time subjects over one year. Students will have access to a range of implant systems, diagnostic and CAD-CAM technologies.

Entry Requirements:

AHPRA-registration as dental practitioner with at least two years clinical experience; submission of curriculum vitae; interview (by invitation). Students must show they have been vaccinated or are not susceptible to Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella and Pertussis. Students must undergo testing for blood-borne viruses (BBVs) including Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) before or on entry to the course.


24 Credit points. Course delivery is predominantly online. Attendance at four, four-day clinical workshops at the JCU Cairns campus is compulsory. Students must complete Dental Implantology Part 1 of 2 before enrolling in Dental Implantology Part 2 of 2.
