This program prepares registered nurses with the knowledge and skills required for endorsement as a midwife. As competent practitioners, graduates will be able to facilitate the care of women and their families experiencing childbirth in a variety of settings.

Course Fee:

Australian: $22,360

Entry Requirements:

Registered nurse with an AQF level 7 bachelor degree in a health-related field or equivalent; and concurrent employment (minimum 0.4 FTE) in a Midwifery unit.

Structure:

24 credit points. There is a clinical component attached to each practice subject. The course requires attendance at residential schools and is offered part-time only.

Recognition:

Australian Nursing & Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Graduates will be eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
