Shirley Gilliver Memorial Fund Grant

The trust fund was established in memory of Shirley Gilliver, a senior tutor in the School of Behavioural Sciences, who died in a road accident returning to Townsville from the Cairns campus in 1991. The fund was established to promote the study of social welfare policy and problems of rural North Queensland.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be enrolled full-time in a Bachelor of Social Work; Bachelor of Social Work (Honours); Master of Social Work; Master of Social Work; Master of Social Policy; or Doctorate undertaking research in rural communities. Selection is based on academic merit and character. Preference is given to students undertaking fieldwork over students undertaking research.
