JMC Academy

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of film and television, exploring history, cinematography, editing, lighting, location sound recording, sound design, screen writing and production management. Students investigate the techniques and aesthetics of screen language and storytelling, while working on a range of projects including a television studio program, green screen exercises and documentary production. The practical components introduce students to the importance of working collaboratively in a range of crew roles, including crewing on second and third year productions. Students are also required to express their individual creativity and voice through more complex production exercises including the completion of a short documentary.
