We understand everyone learns differently and at their own pace. The VCE Vocational Major course provides you with a practical, hands-on option in Years 11 and 12.The course is a 2-year vocational and applied for learning program within the VCE. It's aim is to prepare students to transition successfully into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education and training, university, or directly into employment. The course will support students in developing both academic and practical skills.
Structure
Students are enrolled in a variety of units designed to develop their skills and knowledge in literacy, numeracy, work related and personal skills. Students are also enrolled in their selected stream units and may also choose to enrol in a selected VET Certificate.
Standard entry requirements
Students applying for the VCE Vocational Major Certificate should have completed Year 10 and must be at least 16 years of age. Please note this is a high school program run in TAFE and typically caters for students between 16 - 19 years of age. Applicants will be assessed in language, literacy and numeracy as part of the application, interview and enrolment process.

This program will develop skills and knowledge in literacy, numeracy, personal and work related skills allowing you to make informed choices and become eligible for pathways into further studies and employment in a variety of industries.
