In second year, they build an understanding of the relationship between sport and the media, as well as studying core subjects in sport and exercise psychology, sport development and sport policy. In third- year, students apply what they've learned in a 200-hour work placement, where they analyse current practices, apply sport development and management theory, and develop industry connections. At the same time, students undertake workshops that develop employability plus study core subjects in volunteer management and sport strategy and governance. Students can further tailor degrees with a choice of electives in public health, management, economics, law, finance, marketing or physical and outdoor education. They also have the opportunity to take part in overseas business studies with La Trober University's partner universities such as University of Stirling (Scotland), University of Bayreuth (Germany), University of Windsor (Canada) and University of Oregon (USA). Unique industry Professors of Practice work within this course to improve course curriculum, student learning experience, and engage with industry and business.
