Australia's only fully online, undergraduate nutrition degree that meets the Nutrition Society of Australia guidelines. It has been designed by leading nutrition experts to give you a comprehensive understanding of food and nutrition science. You will have the opportunity to choose from electives in an area you're passionate about, such as sports nutrition, food science, nutrition research, entrepreneurship, gastronomy, nutrigenomics and more.

Standard entry requirements

  • Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (20) - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.
  • Non Year 12 - Vocational Education & Training: VET prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
  • Non Year 12 - Vocational Education & Training: VET prerequisites - Course specific requirements - VET studies at Certificate IV level or above within the last five years.
  • Non Year 12 - Higher Education study: HE prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
  • Non Year 12 - Higher Education study: HE prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Successful completion of at least the equivalent of one semester of higher education full-time, study within the last 10 years
  • OR Successful completion of HBS101 Introduction to Human Physiology, and one of the following three Open Access Pathway subjects: DTN101 Introduction to Nutrition
  • CHM101 Essentials of Chemistry
  • Or PHE1UHW Understanding Health and Wellbeing. OR Successful completion of Undergraduate Certificate of Food and Nutrition (HCFN)
  • International: IELTS - 6.5 < 6.0 (PG minimum) - 6.5 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 6.0.

Recognition

Graduates of the Bachelor of Food and Nutrition may apply for membership with the Nutrition Society of Australia. Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.
