When you successfully complete the Associate Degree of Teacher Education, you could progress to a Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary). You'll also receive advanced standing for up to two years of full-time study. You'll develop strong foundational skills in professional literacy and numeracy, as well as knowledge of contemporary approaches to learning.

Structure

To qualify for the award of Associate Degree of Teacher Education, students must complete 240 credit points of study in total, consisting of: 120 core credit points 120 credit in a selected Education Stream

Standard entry requirements

  • Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (20) - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.
  • Recent secondary education - UAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (Band 2) - equivalent to VCE 20 - One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 2), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 3).
  • Non Year 12 - Vocational Education & Training: VET prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
  • Non Year 12 - Higher Education study: HE prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
  • International: IELTS - Course specific - IELTS (Academic) score of 7.5 with no individual band score less than 7.0
