La Trobe's Bachelor of Business (Marketing) has been designed with direct input from industry to ensure you have the specialised knowledge and solid business foundations employers want. Explore emerging areas such as digital and social marketing, as well as core subjects like digital marketing, consumer behaviour, branding, research and strategic marketing.

Structure

Students must complete at least 360 credit points. At least 270 of these must be in subjects offered by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law. In first year students take four business foundation subjects, one subject specific to the marketing disciplinary core and three elective subjects. The four business foundation subjects, Business Foundations, Accounting and Finance for Business, Business Economics, and Business Analytics, will introduce key business disciplines and work-ready skills. These skills will be further enhanced in second and third year with a subject in Sustainability and a capstone subject in Entrepreneurship, respectively. In addition to these common core subjects students complete eight core subjects in marketing over the three years of the degree. This program features experiential content, including a marketing work-integrated learning subject. This flexible degree also allows students to choose to take an additional major or a couple of four-subject minors.

Standard entry requirements

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL. NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

Recognition

The Bachelor of Business (Marketing) is accredited by the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI). Membership may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree.
