This qualification opens doors if you're returning to study, trying out business for the first time or looking for an alternative entry into higher education. You'll be introduced to the workings of organisations and their structure, increases your commercial awareness and build practical knowledge that will be useful for life. Our unique industry Professors of Practice work within this course to improve course curriculum, student learning experience, and engage with industry and business.

Entry Requirements:

VCE Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in English other than EAL. NSW HSC Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English or equivalent; Students must also meet the academic requirements depending on the country where they completed their previous studies; The standard English language requirements include a minimum IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no individual band less than 6.0


Students must complete 8 subjects, totalling 120 credit points. The program comprises four core foundation subjects and four elective subjects. Three of these must be from Business, Economics and Law, and one may be chosen from any discipline across the University.

Students also receive hands-on training in facilities including a TV studio, an archaeological dig simulation site, moot court, and on field trips to places like Victoria's alpine wilderness.

La Trobe encourages students to participate in overseas study programs including nursing in Nepal, nanotechnology in Tokyo, and Indigenous studies in the Philippines. In 2016, La Trobe awarded travel grants and scholarships to 950 undergraduate and postgraduate students to study with partners like National University of Singapore, San Diego State University and Stockholm University.
