Entry Requirements:
A relevant Bachelor degree e.g. biological or behavioural sciences, health, allied health, industrial engineering; prior learning developed through relevant work experience or professional accreditation, where it is deemed to be at least equivalent to that obtained through a Bachelor degree, may be considered; making an offer to an applicant, the University will give consideration to a range of factors, including successful completion of a relevant occupational health and safety course to at least a Certificate IV level; and at least three years of employment experience relevant to occupational health and safety; NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place; Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.
Structure:
4 core subjects examining work-related determinants of health, occupational health and safety principles and legislation, monitoring hazardous substances in OHS, and ergonomic principles of work, workstation and plant design.

Graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health, Safety and Ergonomics may apply for membership with the Safety Institute of Australia and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australasia. Students also receive hands-on training in facilities including a TV studio, an archaeological dig simulation site, moot court, and on field trips to places like Victoria's alpine wilderness.
La Trobe encourages students to participate in overseas study programs including nursing in Nepal, nanotechnology in Tokyo, and Indigenous studies in the Philippines. In 2016, La Trobe awarded travel grants and scholarships to 950 undergraduate and postgraduate students to study with partners like National University of Singapore, San Diego State University and Stockholm University.
The University has eight campuses in Victoria and NSW and is the largest provider of university education in regional Victoria. The University has more than 190,000 graduates. It's an impressive group that includes CEOs, parliamentarians, human rights activists, medical researchers and Olympians.
