The Bachelor of Clinical Science is designed to help students gain the professional skills they will need for a future career in the medical, allied health or medical research professions. Students will learn the fundamentals of biomedical science before applying their knowledge to a human body system approach, where pathology is taught alongside normal physiology and anatomy. The professional practice units will help develop their skills in critical thinking, problem solving, research, communication and personal reflection. Students will also have the opportunity to gain invaluable practical experience in a healthcare setting or medical research facility through the capstone/PACE (Professional and Community Engagement) unit. This innovative program can be completed in two years and is ideal for those looking to continue on to a postgraduate medical program.

The program offers the flexibility to target learning outcomes around the preferred career path. In the first year students will study a common set of units based on the sciences relevant to clinical practice or medical research, with flexibility offered in the second year to align with either: progression to a medical research program (e.g. Master of Research) or progression to a graduate-entry medical and health profession program (e.g. Doctor of Physiotherapy or a Doctor of Medicine). This course is offered in Session 1 only.
