This major focuses on preparing graduates to be able to design, evaluate, build, and mange 21st-century distributed energy systems. This stream will provide students with the unique combination of skills they'll need to design and operate future electrical energy systems within the context of existing electric power systems. Students will learn about the fundamentals of energy systems, power electronics and electrical machines, and develop the skills required to design and build the systems that generate and use electrical energy. They will also learn how to predict the real-world performance of electrical systems and understand how electrical engineering can help tackle global environmental challenges. Students will have opportunities to take advantage of Macquarie's strong industry partnerships with major companies such as BAE Systems, Cochlear, Optus and Honeywell.
