This qualification is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It provides a trade outcome in painting and decorating for residential and commercial construction work.

Year 10 or equivalent

27 units: 23 core; 4 elective

Core: Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry; Plan and organise work; Conduct workplace communication; Carry out measurements and calculations; Work safely at heights; Read and interpret plans and specifications; Calculate and cost construction work; Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry; Operate elevated work platforms; Erect and maintain trestle and plank systems; Prepare surfaces for painting; Apply paint by brush and roller; Apply paint by spray; Apply texture coat paint finishes by brush, roller and spray; plus more and electives.
