Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT) offers a range of programs in the fields of Business, Accounting, Information Technology and Computer Networking at University Pathway Diploma, Bachelor degree and Master degree levels.

MIT endeavours to provide innovative and industry relevant curriculum, that helps students to achieve successful career outcomes in their chosen field. Courses are accredited by professional bodies such as the CPA, ICAA, and ACS, and integrate employability skills with strong emphasis on business and communication skills, collaborative learning, problem solving and industry based projects.

Class sizes are smaller than traditional universities which facilitate greater student-teacher interaction, encourage participation, develop confidence and ensure that students receive academic contact and support at a personal level.

MIT students have access to a wide range of support services and facilities, such as the Study Skills Program, Mentor Support Program, On-Campus Employment and the MIT Recruitment Agency (MITRA). In addition, MIT offers a range of scholarships to aspiring students.

Entry requirements for Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT)

Undergraduate diploma and degree: as a minimum, applicants must have successfully completed an Australian year 12 or equivalent.

Postgraduate degree: as a minimum, applicants must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent.

Transfering your previous study credits

Pathway to second-year University: The MIT Diploma programs are of 2 semesters (8 months) duration, and consist of units equivalent to the first-year of relevant Bachelor degrees at MIT and other Australian Universities. On completion of a MIT Diploma, students could enter second-year of a relevant Bachelor degree at MIT, Deakin University, Swinburne University of Technology, Monash University, or Federation University Australia. However, the University that students apply to will make the final decision based on the units they have completed.

TAFE/VET Credit Transfers/Articulation: TAFE/VET graduates with a relevant 1.5 year Diploma could be eligible to receive up to 1 year credit transfer, and TAFE/VET graduates with a relevant 2 year Advanced Diploma could be eligible to receive up to 1.5 years credit transfer into the Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Networking at MIT.
