This course enables the consolidation of advanced level English speaking, listening, reading, writing, literacy skills including digital literacy skills, and study skills in English to access further study pathways including into higher education. The aim of qualification is to develop communication and research skills and knowledge at a complex level together with knowledge of the Australian education system. It is designed for participants who need to develop English language skills to participate in a further study context in complex interactions and to critically analyse and produce complex texts relevant to further study.

9 units: 8 core; 1 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Research pathways and produce a learning plan and portfolio; Give complex presentations for further study; Analyse and participate in complex spoken discourse for further study; Take notes from complex aural texts for further study; Read and write complex texts for research purposes; Read and write complex texts for further study; Use critical reading and writing skills for further study; Use language analysis skills to review own texts. Electives: Search library and information databases; Apply essential further study skills; Set study goals and plan education pathway; Participate in online collaborative learning; Participate in collaborative learning; Design and produce text documents; plus more.

Approximate ISLPR outcome is 3/3+. Approximate ACSF level is 4. This is the equivalent of IELTS 5.5- 6.5.
