Diploma of Youth Justice

Melbourne Polytechnic

This qualification is part of the Community Services Training Package. It reflects the role of youth justice workers who supervise young people who have been directed by the justice system to be in the care and direction of authorised community and government agencies. Workers at this level may have some supervisory responsibility for other staff.

14units: 10 core; 4 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Develop, implement and promote effective workplace communication; Respond to needs of youth justice clients; Work in the youth justice environment; Support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people in youth justice system; Manage service response to young people in crisis; plus more. Electives: Counsel clients affected by domestic and family violence; Support self-directed physical health and wellbeing; Interact with the legal system to protect children; plus more.
